Kenya Open Darts Championship

 

NAIROBI – Uganda darts team captain Augustus Ndigendawa is optimistic his team will gain victoy at the Kenya Open Darts Championship that begins this Saturday in Nairobi.

 

Before the team was flagged off at the National Council of Sports (NCS) on Friday, Ndigendawa said that despite Kenya having a home advantage, they are ready to put up a comandable perfomance.

 

“I know Kenya has always been our threat, but we are prepared and following our recent performance against them, we are better and we shall tame them,” he said.

 

A team of 37 players was flagged off on Friday by NCS official, Ivan Niwamanya who urged them to lift the Uganda flag high.

 

“We send you to represent us as a country. We expect high discipline and good performance to win medals for Uganda in this tournament,” Niwamanya said before handing over the flag to the team captain.

 

Top players including Patrick Ochieng, Job Odoi, Isaac Tasi, Augustus Ndigendawa, James Otim, David Tabaro, Robert Okalanyi and Ronald Kalete are expect to upset Kenyans on their home turf in the male category.

 

Harriet Akot, Maria Namuganyi, Dina Amoding, Joyce Anite, and Gloria Omonya are expected to shoulder the women category high.
