No pressure on us in elimination semifinal playoff game

KAMPALA. Nemo Stars coach Andrew Okapis insists they are ‘under no pressure’ despite the prospects of possible elimination at the hands of Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mukono in the ongoing Aziz Damani National Volleyball League Semifinal Playoff Series.
Nemo failed to capitalise on a 2-1 lead in their 3-2 loss to UCU in the first leg of the semifinals held in Nsambya on Sunday.
Now they must summon some of the heroics that helped them win the title in 2015 to level the series.

“We have been in these situations before and bounced back. So there is really no pressure on our side. We are not fazed at all,” Okapis told Daily Monitor. “First of all the loss came down to a few poor decisions from our side but the morale to bounce back is high,” he added.
UCU were commendable in stopping Nemo’s attacks but and will again rely on their service and blocks to upset the defending champions. But will the strategy work, again?
“Nemo are defending champions and we cannot underestimate them but their squad is thin. They have limited options and if we keep stretching them, we can punish them,” UCU coach Nason Bwesigye opined.

Fresh start
Elsewhere, Nkumba and Sport-S have to start all over again after their initial pulsating meeting on Sunday was affected by the rain-induced early darkness at 2-2.
“Unfortunately for us, we led that game 2-1 but failed to spill it over. We became shaky in attack and let Nkumba bounce back. Good enough, we have another go,” Sport-S coach Yusuf Mukiibi said.
“We have spent the last two days putting our emphasis on attack because we need to convert more and Nkumba are more defensive,” Mukiibi added as he plots to down Tony Lakony’s side.
