Nkumba take on UPDF in hoops league

The National Basketball League (NBL) returns this evening at the YMCA courts in Wandegeya, with Nkumba Marines meeting UPDF Tomahawks in the main game.

The Marines are desperate to register their second win in seven games. Their coach Timothy Odeke was disappointed by their 63-72 loss to Our Saviour on Sunday.

“We started well throughout the first half, then lost our way in the second half. I guess it had everything to do with our inexperience and also lack of options from the bench.”

Odeke is rebuilding Marines, the 2005 and 2006 champions, and he is not oblivious of the fact that this league is hostile, when you do not have quality. But that is no excuse not to register their second win in seven games against UPDF, who beat JKL Dolphins 64-61 on Sunday.
