MAPUTO – JKL Lady Dolphin’s precious gem Jamila Nansikombi has gradually found her way to the elite class of players on the continent.

This basketball season, her peak has gone so high with success stories in 3×3 internationals and the national league where she guided JKL to their maiden league title.

Following her scintillating performance the 21 year old was head hunted by Kenyan giants KPA (Kenya Ports Authority) on a temporary basis to represent them at the recently concluded FIBA Africa Basketball Women Championship in Mozambique.

Her aura of invincibility prevailed when she became the best player on the team, guiding them to seventh position in the highly competitive outing.

Her heroics resultantly earned her selection on the team of the tournament to feature alongside top players First Bank Basketball’s Ginette Mfutila and Aisha Mohamed, American-Angolan Italee Lucas and Ferroviario de Maputo’s Anabela Cossa.

“It is overwhelming to achieve what I did. The demands at this level are high which encourages an extra effort. I really hope to continue featuring at events of this magnitude.”

The youngster basked in the adulation of her teammates averaging 17 points per game to become the top scorer in the competition. All said, things can only get better for the extremely gifted player.
