KAMPALA – Paul Mucureezi has confirmed leaving Uganda’s CAF Champions League representatives, KCCA FC.

The midfielder who last featured for KCCA when they beat Vipers 1-0 in the Stanbic Uganda Cup final in Bukedea last month confirmed this through a statement written on his social media platform.

“I can confirm that I am leaving KCCA FC after my contract expired end of June. It has been an incredible four-year journey filled with mostly highs – winning two Uganda Premier League titles, two Uganda Cup trophies, one Super Cup and the remarkable experience on the continent in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup, “he stated.

He added,” I have enjoyed countless astonishing moments both on and off the field with KCCA FC and have made great friends through the club that will forever be my brothers and sisters.

“I leave with very good memories that will always remind me that I have a family here and people who love me and I trust them.”

Mucureezi who joined KCCA FC in 2014 from Mutundwe Lions goes on to state that he had series consultations with KCCA chairman Aggrey Ashaba and CEO Josephine Namukisa before making his decision to leave the 12times Uganda Premier League champions.

The UCU graduate was also full of praises for KCCA technical team, fans, players and various people at the club for believing in him.

“I want to highlight my utmost respect for manager Mike Mutebi, his entire coaching staff, my teammates, the club administrators, the Board and everyone who wakes up every day to try and make this club a better place,”Mucureezi noted.

Vipers and Mbarara City are some of the clubs that were interested in the player.
