Parliament is currently processing the Excise Duty Amendment Bill No 2 which seeks to slap a 0.5 percent tax on Mobile Money.
The bill was introduced amidst protests by MPs from across the political divide, with majority opposed to the tax.
On Thursday last week Parliament failed to vote on the tax after failing to raise the required quorum of 154.
In this afternoon’s sitting, only 196 out of 450 MPs are present in the House, but with the quorum.
Voting is currently going on with a show of hands.
