Two-time winners Kampala University are eyeing a record third title in what coach Vincent Tumusiime describes as one of the toughest finals ever of the annual university competition. “Kyambogo is a very good side. But I must say we are also well set for the battle. We must leave Namboole triumphant,” stated Tumusiime.

 The excitement is visible

It will be Kyambogo’s second appearance in the final of the Pepsi sponsored league when they take on the two-time winners. This is also Kyambogo’s first time in four years to go past the quarter final stage having last made an appearance in the 2014 edition.

Artificial eyes… yes to see victory

While Kyambogo cruised past Bugema in the semifinals 3-0 on aggregate, Kampala University come into the game as favourites after clawing their way from behind against St. Lawrence to level the aggregate score at 3-3 and force the game into a penalty shootout they won 6-5.

 Set: Kyambogo team

Kyambogo coach, Deo Serwadda is also talking big. Just like in his playing days when he was a resilient defender he has vowed to shoot down his opponents. “We are only expecting a win,” he said. Tumusiime is humbled by his team’s appearance in the final and he believes discipline will win the game.
