Four different age bracket teams for both boys and girls were registered for the competition.
FUFA CEO Edgar Watson, the brains behind Edgar’s Youth Programme is optimistic that youth team that was flagged off for the London Cup will put up a good show.
“We decided to take part in this tournament because we wanted our players to learn one or two things during the event. We have a lot of confidence that they will perform well,” Watson said.
A contingent of 43 including players, coaches and team parents were flagged off for the London Cup tournament slated for August, 1 to 21 at Brunel University, West London- United Kingdom.
Four different age bracket teams for both boys and girls were registered for the competition. These include; U7, U9, U11 and U15.
But U15 will be the first group to play their first games on August 2 then they will be followed by U7,U9 and U11 on August 4.
Edgar youth teams have for the past ten years participated in different competitions such as Schwan’s USA Cup (2011/2012/2013/2014/2015/2016/2017); Welsh International Super Cup (2009/2010/2011/2013/2014/2015), Keele Cup (2012), Gothia World Youth Cup (2008/2009), Norway Cup (2010); Nottingham International Cup (2016), New Balance International Cup 2017 and World Cup Youth Conference in Germany (2006) among others.
