BOSTON- Former World Boxing Organisation NABO lightweight champion Sharif ‘The Lion’ Bogere has not lost a fight in the last five years thanks to having more speed, discipline, power, a great team of trainers and brilliant promotion.

Bogere, who fights under Mayweather Promotions, last suffered defeat in a controversial way against Cuba’s Richard Abril during a World Boxing Association World lightweight title in 2013.

Since then, the 29-year-old Las Vegas-based Ugandan has won eight back to back fights, a reason he has an impressive fight record of 31-1-0.

Maintain stranglehold
Bogere will be looking to maintaining his dominance in this division when he fights Oscar Bravo (22-7-0) next Friday in a 10-round scheduled fight at the Sam’s Town Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“I am in good shape and looking for a win as my priority,” said Bogere about the upcoming fight. “Bravo is a tough guy. I watched him fight one of the boxers in
our camp and he actually knocked him down. So I cannot take him lightly. My aim is to maintain the winning streak.”

Bogere is almost ripe for another shot at a title challenge and this can be achieved with more and more brilliancy during tune up fights.

Title fight talk
“We are doing everything possible to have Bogere challenge for a title before the end of the year or early next year. I am sure this will be his last trial fight or at least one more before we get the big tittle fight,” Jimmy Alex, Bogere’s manager, said. Bogere’s last fight was a win against Arturo Santos in January.

But Bravo, born and bred in Chile, lost his duel against Saul Rodriguez in February.

Bogere has in the past 10 years been a nightmare for Mexican opponents, downing 13. The same can be said about Chileans. If he gets a win over Bravo, the tally will rise to eight. His previous victims include Moises Gutierrez, Hardy Paredes, Marcelo Carrasco, Ramon Contreras, Carlos Narvaez, Claudio Aguilar and Hugo Martinez.
