Badminton: Uganda to play China in a friendly tourney

KAMPALA – Uganda and China have taken their relationship to a whole new level.

In a bid to strengthen their business ties, the two countries have organised a friendly badminton tournament that starts this Saturday at the MTN Arena, Lugogo.

The event is aimed at getting Ugandan business men to interact with prospective Chinese business partners.

The games will be played in a series. The first part of the games will start on Saturday, August 11-12 while the last part will be scheduled for August 18-19.

According to a facebook post by the China Alumini Association in Uganda, Ugandan teams will play against different Chinese companies in a non-professional Badminton tournament.

There will also be lots of prizes at stake for the winning teams at the fun filled tourney organised by the Chinese Embassy in Uganda and CAAU.

The event has attracted over 16 teams and a number of sponsors such as Blue wave mineral water company, KCCA, Bank of Uganda, China Alumini Association in Uganda (CAAU), Stanbic Bank and City tyres, among others.
