KAMPALA- Three-time national beach soccer league kings Mubs are striving to restore their long standing juggernaut in the top flight division.
Charles Ayiekoh’s side sank to a new low last season when they failed to make it out of the group for the first time in history – and that bothers them like hell.
“We were disorganized last season, Mubs management had a tiny budget for us but that has changed this season,” Ayiekoh, revealed.
The 2017 winners are out to contend for top honours this season with a new look team that boast of national team players like Douglas Muganga, Elvis Kasujja, Faisal Muwawu, Ambrose Naturinda, Ben Ochen, Maxwell Okello, Ismail Kawawulo, Frank Bomboka and Malyamungu.
As they demolished new league Mutoola 7-4 last weekend, Kasujja, Muganga and Naturinda were at their devastating best – the same formbook Ayiekoh will demand this afternoon when they encounter archrivals Nkumba at Lido Beach Entebbe.
“When you critically analyze the league contenders, you can’t go past us, Nkumba, Isabeti and St Lawrence. We want to win this match to show doubters that we are here for a fourth trophy,” Ayeiko added.
Last season, Mubs suffered many walkover decisions; player exodus and self belief, challenges Ayeiko says are now in the past. This mouthwatering tie between Mubs and Nkumba is set to be broadcast live BBS TV.
