ENTEBBE – Amateur golfers will pray lady luck visits their clubs and swing as they compete in the tenth edition of the Entebbe tournament that has attracted over 200 golfers. The tournament is scheduled for Saturday.

Apart from the sh80m sponsorship main sponsors, Afrisafe Risk Consultants has offered two brand new cars; an $88,000 (sh325m) Jeep Cherokee and a Fiat fullback Pick Up worth 42,600 euros (sh184m) as Hole-in-One prize.

Golfers will try their luck on holes 6 and 12 to try and win the two cars in the unique event, where each player picks their best three clubs and a putter which they use throughout the 18-hole round.

The tournament provides a test of skill and ability and the format provides very good fun for the golfers who must use only 4 of the 14 clubs in their bags.

Cars aside, the golfers will be trying to emulate Kemisi Lutajani and Wendy Angudeyo who were the overall winners of last year’s event in the men and ladies’ categories respectively.

Elsewhere, professional golfer Fred Wanzala carded three-under-par 68 to win the professional’s sh7m contest of the Chairman’s Cup golf tournament at Entebbe Club on Wednesday.

Deo Akope (70 gross), David Kamulindwa (71), Vincent Byamukama (74) and Ronald Rugumayo (74) took the first five positions.
